Consumer Loan Officer develops and services consumer loans. Interviews loan applicants to determine financing needs and to offer the appropriate loan products and repayment arrangements. Being a Consumer Loan Officer evaluates loan applications and applicant creditworthiness. Once a loan is approved and negotiated, monitors loan payments, and provides customer service to ensure the borrower's questions are answered and needs are met, and that the loan is repaid appropriately. Additionally, Consumer Loan Officer maintains accurate and thorough records, and follows all applicable organizational, state, and federal policies and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Consumer Loan Officer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.     SUMMARY: The Consumer Loan Advisor generates new loan business by developing relationships and referral sources in the business community (example: realtors and vendors participating in our referral direct lending program) and by processing construction loans. The incumbent will be responsible for building strong customer relationships and achieving defined production goals for consumer loan products. The Consumer Loan Advisor is active in external business development activities.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Generate new consumer loan business by developing relationships and referral sources in the business community (example: realtors and vendors participating in our referral direct lending program) and by processing construction loans.
    • Achieve defined production goals for consumer loan products.
    • Develop new Consumer Direct Retail Referral sources through public relations, professional and internal bank referrals.
    • Interview customers and accept loan applications. Close loans with customers as applicable. Identify and sell or refer other bank products identified during interview.
    • May generate and underwrite commercial loans according to loan policy guidelines.
    • Understand and comply with bank policy, laws, regulations, and the bank's BSA/AML Program, as applicable to your job duties. This includes but is not limited to; complete compliance training and adhere to internal procedures and controls; report any known violations of compliance policy, laws, or regulations and report any suspicious customer and/or account activity.

    • Uphold the Arvest Code of Ethics and ensure that confidential information is safeguarded.
    • Maintain a high level of cooperation and rapport with all associates
    • Formulate and communicate new ideas and suggestions that will improve profitability and efficiency for the bank's overall operation.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE :

    • Associates degree in related field or equivalent work experience required.
    • 2 years previous experience providing customer service in a financial services industry and/or selling products/services in a financial services industry required.
    • Current NMLS Safe Act Registration or the ability to be registered within 30 days required.
    • Solid understanding of all banking functions required.
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
