We are searching for a Outreach Technician to perform assure accuracy and efficiency of specimen procurement, accession, and processing. Assure that specimens are delivered to correct department in a timely fashion. Report any inappropriate specimen drawing or processing incident to administrative manager. Respond to customer inquiries and/or needs. Follow through with any questions or concerns related to specimen processing. Assure that supplies for outside clients are filled in a timely manner.

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Shift: Day shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 7:00am-3:30pm
• Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

Education and/or Experience Requirements:

• An Associate's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science and certification as an MLT from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required.
• Three years of laboratory experience in multiple laboratory disciplines is required.
• Experience in Specimen Processing, Send out testing, and Customer/Client Services preferred

• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
