  • POSITION SUMMARY:
    • Reporting to the Data Manager, the Database Analyst works closely within and across Sierra View Medical Center's (SVMC) Clinical, Ancillary, Financial and IT Departments to identify, design and implement new functionality and enhancements to meet evolving business and reporting needs.
    • The Database Analyst's role is to plan, design, develop, and launch efficient business, financial, and operations systems reports in support of core organizational functions and business processes. The position requires significant capacity to manage multiple competing objectives and to communicate complex technical information in understandable terms to management and end user personnel of Sierra View Medical Center.
    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education/License/Certification:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a Information Systems, Business or Healthcare Administration highly preferred.

    Experience/Skills:
    • Should have a minimum of 6 years’ of broadly based, progressive experience for computer selection of clinical, financial, business, and decision support systems and implementation of healthcare database and support systems. Extensive experience in complex, cross departmental projects involving multiple platforms.
    • Expert knowledge of the Meditech application database design and MAGIC programming and knowledge of Meditech HIS systems is preferred. This includes any system platform(s) which application(s) may reside on including but not limited to: Client/Server, M-AT, Windows '9X, NT, XP, etc.The individual should have more than cursory experience with MS SQL Server program. The incumbent should also have experience with MS SQL Server program development and testing techniques and have the ability to develop Meditech "add-on" applications using MS Access, Visual Basic, Java, C and Magic.
