Graphic Design:
Executive all stages of the design process from concept to completion while creating graphics that are industry-leading, on trend, and utilize storytelling. Projects include but are not limited to:
1. Corporate Communications & Literature
Learn to understand company technology and help tell the product story. provide detailed and accurate estimates for all marketing graphics based on print specifications. Source and procure suppliers of paper, printing, photography, web and related services. Manage in-house and external printing needs.
a. Supply specific communication pieces
i. Sales Literature (Product Sheets, Catalogs, Brochures, Speical Offers, etc.) - Design workable product sheets, catalogs, brochures, and special offer sheets keeping track of inventies and reorder schedules.
ii. Direct Mail, etc. - Design creative direct mail and/or other projects included in the marketing plan.
iii. Advertising - Design advertising for industry trade journals, distributor publications, distributor internet exposure, with marketing and ensure consistency of materials. Coordinate insertion orders and supply materials by deadline for all advertising contracted for.
iv. Trade Show Graphics - Offer creative suggestions and provide graphics for tradeshows. Work with sales assistant to complete jobs in time for delivery to shows.
v. Corporate Identity - Be sure that anything bearing a Van Beek Company logo is consistent in representation to the market.
2. Internet Presentation & Updates / Email Marketing / Social Media
Help tell the story, while building all necessary elements for professional internet presentation of the Van Beek Companies. This would include web page development and updates, activity reports, etc. Design coordinate effective e-blasts and maintain social media.
3. Packages / Labels
Responsible for creative design direction for the purpose of product development and packaging for new and existing products as directed by management. Responsible to assign and include bar codes on appropriate products. Provide creative leadership, identify trends and communicate them to the product development team. Responsible to source and procure unique packaging options for consideration on new products being introduced to the market. Maintain consistency of brand identity when developing any label or package. Conduct press checks and other quality functions as needed.
Copywriting:
Act as the marketing team's primary copywriter, writing as much effective content as possible.
Meet regularly to gather content ideas from the R&D, sales, and executive/leadership teams and editing content to project completion.
Development of effective copy to be used in packaging, sales collateral, social media, website, etc.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and some design experience OR an Associate's degree and 2 years of graphic design experience.
A portfolio that displays competence in all areas of deign is required and will be requested.
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign is preferred.
