Continuing Education Director directs operations of the institution's on- and off- campus continuing education programs. Develops and implements strategies to attract and retain students and faculty. Being a Continuing Education Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a institutional officer. The Continuing Education Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Primary function is to provide secretarial assistance to the manager. Duties are performed with a relatively high level of independent judgment. Responsibilities normally include composing and typing correspondence, serving as receptionist, maintaining confidential records, taking minutes at meetings, coordinating projects, etc.
