    MCLA seeks candidates for the Dean of Graduate and Continuing Education. The Dean will provide strategic leadership for a diverse group of programs across in-person and online modalities, including: graduate degree programs; evening, weekend and summer programs; non-credit instruction; and off-campus instructional and special programs. The Dean will work directly with the Education and Business administration Departments on graduate and licensure programs as well as relevant academic departments on undergraduate degree completion and other relevant programs. The Dean must approach the responsibilities of this position with a goal of creating and sustaining successful and profitable programs to better meet the needs of the region while also supporting the mission of the College. The Dean is expected to meet revenue goals tied to program development and expansion.

    DETAILED STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Responsible for the management and supervision of all graduate and undergraduate instructional programs assigned to the unit.
    Particular responsibility for engagement with graduate education programs, including M.Ed. and MBA programs. Work directly with the Education and Business Departments on programs and course offerings.
    Works with Education Department chair to ensure programs approved for educator licensure are delivered successfully and in accordance with state regulations.
    Responsible, together with Academic Affairs, for developing new academic programs and enhancing existing programs.
    Partner with academic departments in providing alternative access, delivery, and support for nontraditional students, including on-line courses and programs, to complement present offerings.
    Work with Academic Affairs to develop and manage course offerings through the division.
    Build relationships to promote strong collaborations and partnerships with businesses and other constituents within the county and region. Develop, promote, and assess outreach and program effectiveness to assure that needs of constituents are met.
    Recruits and interviews new part-time faculty as needed and make recommendations to the Dean of Academic Affairs.
    Oversees provision of appropriate orientation, supports, and evaluation for new and continuing part-time faculty.
    Oversee development of all DGCE budget proposals for planned programs and monitor budgets of continuing education and graduate programs to align with revenue goals and the College's strategic plan.
    Oversee development of marketing plans for DGCE course and program promotion.
    Work with Academic Affairs and the academic departments to set and meet goals for student enrollment, retention, and program completion.
    Oversee financial management of the division, including non-credit and summer credit offerings and select special programs.

    Job Requirements:
    Master's degree in appropriate field required; earned doctorate or other terminal degree strongly preferred.
    A minimum of seven years of progressive management experience in higher education, K-12 education, business, or a combination, preferable at a senior level.
    Demonstrates a broad understanding of teacher education and professional programs.
    Experience in continuing or professional education is highly desirable.
    Ability to show evidence of entrepreneurial work, creativity and effectiveness in building and administering programs. Also, ability to respond effectively to deadlines and to be able to prioritize work efficiently.
    Experience and sensitivity to working in a collective bargaining environment, an appreciation of faculty input in the decision-making process, a collaborative working style, and ability to work will with diverse constituencies.
    Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing, on all issues and processes with academic departments and other administrative offices across the college.
    Fiscal management experience and familiarity with emerging technologies, distance education and adult learners are also necessary.

    Additional Information:
    This is a full time, benefited, non-unit professional position. Salary range is $90,000-$105,000.
