ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking a HiCAMS Technician / Contract Support Specialist in Asheville, NC and other locations throughout Western North Carolina. This position involves technical work supporting technicians and engineers as the lead HiCAMS Technician / Contract Support Specialist. This position will ensure all HiCAMS related functions are in compliance with contract agreements, standards and specifications. The position requires the performance of a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data. The work involves decision making and the use of sound judgment. The HiCAMS Technician / Contract Support Specialist must perform a full range of calculations and computations and be proficient in record keeping.
Responsibilities:
- Perform entry of all required HiCAMS and SAP for project records, materials, and estimates as well as tracking DBE participation and technician certifications.
- Responsible for HiCAMS function including processing monthly and final estimates, checking calculations, resolving pay record and material quantity discrepancies, researching project documents, and processing material prepayments.
- Process and enter all project data into the HiCAMS system on a routine basis, which includes project pay records, Supplemental Agreements, and Materials Received Reports (MMRs).
- Obtain HiCAMS numbers for project testing and samples taken on the jobsite, retrieve concrete and asphalt mix designs for technicians in the field, and any other required duties necessary for HiCAMS documentation on an active construction project.
- Additional duties include creating requisitions for managing inventory, administering payroll / time entry in the SAP system, processing reports in SAP, reviewing project budgets in SAP, reviewing contractor’s certified payrolls for FHWA compliance and scheduling, and maintaining technician’s certifications.
- Work may include other office duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution and two (2) years of progressive technician level experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience in accordance with NCOSHR Guidelines.
- Must have experience utilizing HiCAMS to enter and keep track of project data.
- Must have experience in Contract Administration.
- Knowledge and understanding of Contracts, Plans, Standards, and Specifications.
- Working knowledge of computer equipment (iPads, desktop), software (HiCAMS and SharePoint), computer platforms (Microsoft Office Suite), and mathematical functions.
- This role requires great attention to detail and the ability to keep neat, legible, and accurate records.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish positive lines of communication between Technicians and Engineers.
- Ability to manage and maintain multiple projects and deadlines.
- Knowledge of highway and construction materials testing.
- Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.
