  • Koch Ag & Energy Solutions is seeking a Process Control Engineer to join our Dodge City, Kansas Plant! The preferred location for the role will be in the plant at Dodge City, but an alternative location to office is our corporate office in Wichita, KS.

    Our Team

    This Process Control Engineer will support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the company's fleet of fertilizer plants. The key focus for the organization is to develop and improve process control performance, requiring close collaboration with plant staff and support capabilities.


    What You Will Do

    • Monitor and improve plant's process control and safety system performance.
    • Identify process control optimization opportunities and advanced control opportunities that align with Koch's business goals for our operating plants.
    • Ensure Functional Safety requirements are followed, and SIS performance meets our design specifications.
    • Maintain P&ID's, control narratives, instrument and valve data sheets and other process safety information as it pertains to process controls.
    • Work with Operators to review control performance, troubleshoot issues and lead technical investigations related to process controls.
    • Be able to work in the field as needed to access and inspect instrumentation and control equipment.
    • Work with Process Engineers and Field Technicians to troubleshoot instrumentation, control problems and plant performance issues.
    • Develop implementation plans to drive control performance improvements.
    • Collaborate with project engineering, plant operations and maintenance, reliability and other capabilities on larger projects and initiatives.
    • Comply with all site and fleet requirement on stewardship and personnel safety.
    • Travel 10-15% (25-50% if located in Wichita)

    Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

    • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (i.e.: Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) OR 3 years' experience in Process Controls role
    • 1 years' experience in Electrical or Process Engineering, or Process Controls
    • Familiarity with Process Control concepts and equipment


    What Will Put You Ahead

    • Experience implementing regulatory control schemes and DCS configuration.
    • Experience with safety instrumented systems and functional safety.
    • Experience troubleshooting, revising, and optimizing existing control schemes.
    • Loop tuning and control loop performance improvement experience.
    • Experience in the fertilizer industry with Manufacturing processes, or experience in refining and major petrochemical operations.
    • Familiarity with Advanced Process Controls (APC)
