  • Description

    Key Areas of Responsibility:

       

    • Responsible for the development, oversight, and monitoring of the youth mentoring and home visiting programs in the Waukegan and North Chicago area for children ages 3 to 17 years. 
    • The program coordinator will support and monitor program engagement, and enrollment, and verify program eligibility.
    • Assists in actively maintaining a 100% enrollment rate throughout the program year, and ensuring that each program is meeting its program outcomes.
    • The program coordinator is responsible for reporting, attending funder and technical assistance meetings, and programmatic audits. 
    • They will oversee a team of 8 staff and will facilitate regular team meetings and at least two individual supervisions each year. 
    • They will complete performance reviews for each staff and facilitate regular professional development based on the needs of the program and staff. 
    • Works very closely with program staff to abide by the performance standards.
    • Serves as an advocate for families and youths while as a liaison between families, the program, and the large community.
    • Ensures all assigned program reports are completed and submitted in a timely manner.
    • Handles monetary and budgetary requirements for groups and activities according to approved agency procedures for check requests, petty cash, receipts/documentation, and payouts for food, materials, and transportation.
    • Submits reports on tracking program enrollment, vacancies, and outcomes on a regular basis and as requested by the supervisor.
    • Responsible for updating and maintaining the program’s supplies, resources, and newsletter.
    • Responsible for the hiring of staff, training, mentoring, and coaching of staff to ensure they have the confidence and resources to perform their job duties to the best of their ability. 
    • Ensures all confidential information is protected.
    • Collaborates with SGA’s Evaluation Department to document services.
    • Establishes and maintains MOUs with community partners to create a referral/linkage system for clients enrolled in the program.
    • Collaborates with the team to ensure comprehensive wraparound services for all enrolled participants in order to meet the program’s/agency’s requirements and standards.
    • Attends community network meetings and resource fairs/events targeting parenting families.
    • Completes other duties as assigned.

    • Must display Cross-cultural sensitivity and have bilingual skills to best serve the target population if necessary 
    • Knowledge of children and adolescent learning styles and ability to engage high-risk youths and their families 
    • Strong ability to network and develop professional partnerships
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends

    Experience/Education Required/Sought:

    • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred
