Corporate Compliance Director manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Corporate Compliance Director oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Corporate Compliance Director evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Compliance Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Compliance Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Summary of Job Functions:

     

    The Corporate Compliance Officer ensures all services The Arc provides adhere to the agency's Mission and Core Values. In addition, the Corporate Compliance Officer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and measuring compliance procedures. The Corporate Compliance Officer ensures compliance and operational procedures result in quality customer service as measured by agency policy, state and federal regulation, and national accreditation standards. This position works under the general direction of the Chief Executive Officer and has support responsibility to all directors and team leaders. This position is Monday – Friday in the office. 

     

    Essential Job Functions: 

    • Supervises the Compliance Department, directing the activities of assigned staff.
    • Acts as The Arc's Privacy Officer
    • Establishes procedures to maintain high standards of operations, quality, and responsiveness.
    • Evaluate and develop improved techniques for compliance and quality.
    • Investigates compliance violations promptly and makes recommendations for resolution.
    • Guides the agency in meeting national accreditation standards through CARF.
    • Develop policies and procedures related to compliance.
    • Assist other agency departments to ensure all policies and procedures meet appropriate regulations and guidelines.
    • Coordinates licensing and site reviews as required by granting and governmental agencies.
    • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience: 

    • Required: 5 years of management experience; 5 years compliance and quality assurance experience.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree; 8 years of compliance and quality assurance experience.
    • Basic computer use and experience with Microsoft Office.

     

    Required Licenses, Clearances & Training:  

    • Background checks as defined by licensing agencies
    • Current TB test/clearance
    • Pass mandatory agency training (Corporate Compliance, Mandatory Reporting, CPR, etc.)

     

    Equipment Used:

    • Routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and other office-related devices. 

     

    Working Conditions: 

    • This job operates in a professional office environment.
    • This job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a hazard-free environment.

     

    Physical Demands: 

    • Sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods
    • Standing and moving about for extended periods
    • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction
    • Finger dexterity is required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard
    • Communication skills using the English spoken word
    • Ability to see within normal parameters
    • Ability to hear within normal range
