Corporate Compliance Director manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Corporate Compliance Director oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Corporate Compliance Director evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Compliance Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Compliance Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     The Role

    The Global Health and Safety Compliance and Governance Director is responsible for leading and directing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our health, fire life safety, and other safety program across all global hotels. The Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our health and safety program, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and fostering a culture of safety excellence throughout the organization.

    • Lead Global Health and Safety Initiatives: Direct the development and enhancement of health, fire life safety, and safety programs across global hotels, aligning with the company's mission and vision.
    • Strategic Implementation: Drive and oversee the execution of health and safety strategies, ensuring legal compliance and integration into organizational operations.
    • Program Development: Craft and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures, reflecting industry standards and legal requirements.
    • Risk Management: Conduct assessments to identify hazards, collaborating with leadership for hazard remediation and developing robust risk control strategies.
    • Training and Education: Create and deliver health and safety training for employees and contractors, promoting a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
    • Incident Analysis: Lead frameworks for investigating health and safety incidents, identifying causes, and implementing preventive measures.
    • Performance Monitoring: Set and track key performance indicators for health and safety programs, reporting on progress and areas of improvement.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strong connections with internal and external stakeholders, fostering support for safety initiatives and knowledge sharing.
    • Safety Compliance Oversight: Monitor changes in Fire Life Safety and Occupational Health & Safety regulations, ensuring hotel operations compliance.
    • Safety Documentation: Manage the creation of safety reports and documentation for both internal and external stakeholders, including ESG and Risk Council.

    Qualifications

    Experience Required:

    • 10 years of experience in related health and safety or hotel operations roles
    • Subject Matter Expertise in HSSE Systems, OHS compliance strategies, and relevant US regulations, as well as International Standards

    Experience Preferred:

    • Bachelor’s Degree
    • Experience or training utilizing Risk Management Information Systems and working with system vendors preferred.
    • Proficient with Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Relevant HSSE or equivalent qualifications/certifications, e.g., BCSP, CSP, CIH a plus
