Corporate Compliance Director manages the compliance programs, policies, reporting, and practices for an organization or business. Ensures that all activities follow regulatory requirements related to the governance of the organization as well as any industry-specific or location-specific laws. Being a Corporate Compliance Director oversees internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Implements risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance. Additionally, Corporate Compliance Director evaluates and implements changes to compliance processes due to new or amended regulations. Delivers communication and training initiatives that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Compliance Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Compliance Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. We are looking for an experienced Corporate Paralegal to support our corporate law practice. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in assisting attorneys in various corporate legal matters, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice and delivering high-quality legal services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys in preparing and drafting legal documents related to corporate transactions.
Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support legal proceedings.
Manage and organize corporate records, contracts, and other legal documents.
Coordinate and facilitate communication between attorneys, clients, and external parties.
Prepare and file legal documents with government agencies and regulatory bodies.
Assist in due diligence processes for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
Stay updated on changes in corporate laws and regulations.
Provide administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings and managing calendars.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and/or a recognized paralegal certification, or equivalent work experience.
Proven experience as a paralegal, preferably in a law firm setting within the corporate or transactional space.
Proficiency in legal research, document drafting, and case management.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Proficient in using legal research databases and software.
