Corporate Construction Manager oversees construction projects and operations to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives and fulfill client contractual requirements. Follows established quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Being a Corporate Construction Manager reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Corporate Construction Manager builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Corporate Construction Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Corporate Construction Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Thalle is currently seeking an experienced and motivated candidate to fill a Lead Construction Quality Control Manager (CQC) position on a 6 year, $375M ( ) USACE Lock and Dam project located on scenic Kentucky Lake in Grand Rivers, Kentucky.  The Quality Control Manager will report directly to the Senior Project Manager to support the operations team and coordinate all aspects of the Quality Control System implemented on the project.  This role will interact with a variety of staff at all levels and uphold a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

    Job Title:  Quality Control Manager

    Salary:  Top pay for experienced and proven performers - $130K/Year (negotiable) based on experience.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Provide Quality Control Systems Management and Oversight on a large-scale United States Army Corps of Engineer's Lock and Dam Project.
    • Onsite at all times during construction and is employed by the prime contractor.
    • Responsible for overall management of the Construction Quality Control Program with the authority to act in all quality control matters for the contractor.
    • Manage a robust quality control staff consisting of more than 10 teammates and resources provided by subcontracted testing firms.
    • Maintain all documents (letters, material submittals, shop drawing submittals, Schedules, project documentation) and records at the site, except as otherwise acceptable to the Contracting Officer.
    • Review and approve all construction submittals.
    • Conduct the minimum of three phases (Preparatory, Initial and Follow up) of control for each definable feature of the construction work.
    • Overall responsibility and oversight for quality aspects of the project, including management of all quality control personnel and reporting as required.
    • This project will utilize an on-site batch plant, specialized transport, placing equipment, and an onsite material testing lab.

    Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

    • A graduate engineer, or a graduate of construction management, with a preferred minimum of 15 years of construction experience on construction projects, similar in scope and magnitude to this contract.
    • Completion of the Construction Quality Management for contractor course within the last five (5) years, or the ability and willingness to obtain the CQM for Contractors course certification within 90 days of onboarding.
    • Verifiable experience as an approved Construction Quality Control Manager on USACE projects (references required).
    • Experience leading and managing a quality control staff.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills is required.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
    • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards.
    • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
    • Must be able to move freely about a construction site that at times present a demanding terrain including, but not limited to, climbing of ladders and stair towers, uneven and often wet surfaces, and slopes.
    • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
