Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager oversees and promotes the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Implements programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager communicates the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager conducts compliance monitoring, investigations, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. Manages the administration of confidential reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Manager, Compliance and Ethics will report directly to the Director, Compliance & Ethics and will provide day-to-day support and counsel in managing key elements of the Cheniere Compliance and Ethics Program.  The position will specifically focus on detective programming including but not limited to, compliance monitoring activities designed to survey and review business performance and risk indicators, assisting in investigations for employee issues which would include but is not limited to matters that come in through the hotline, and assisting in providing updates of the Compliance & Ethics program to the Board of Directors, senior management, and employees. The Manager will also handle special Compliance & Ethics projects as needed.

     

    KNOWLEDGE

    The ideal candidate will have significant experience supporting a large, global organization in the Energy industry with moderate experience and understanding with respect to Compliance & Ethics Program governance, fraud monitoring, and case management. The ideal candidate will also have the capability for leveraging and/or introducing existing enabling technologies to advance compliance and ethics initiatives. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

    Assurance and Monitoring

    • Manage monitoring of the Travel & Expense (T&E) expense submission and P-card expense submissions for compliance with policy and escalate potential violations.
    • Manage monitoring of the Conflict of Interest (COI) program for compliance with policy and work with HR, Legal, Supply Chain Management, and other stakeholders to ensure conflicts are effectively managed.
    • Assist in insider risk program operations, including the monitoring of sources within the organization for identified indicators and reporting on potential insider risks.
    • Identify opportunities to incorporate "best practices" and lessons learned into new and existing policies and procedures. 

     

    Incident Management & Investigations

    • Assist with investigations of potential or actual unlawful conduct, maintaining confidentiality and objectivity to ensure a fair process.
    • Provide case management support to the Ethics Hotline, including tracking and maintaining accurate and detailed documentation of investigations in the case management system.
    • Maintain statistical data related to hotline reports and investigations and conduct trend analysis.

     

    Measurement and Reporting: 

    • Design and develop reports and dashboards that illustrate the health and performance of the Compliance & Ethics program.
    • Develop Leadership and Director Reports for the Compliance & Ethics Program

     

    Other duties: 

    • Act as a trusted advisor for all matters related to Compliance & Ethics, as needed. 
    • Promotes continuous improvement by identifying areas for possible improvements and proactively addressing problems within scope of responsibility. 
    • Will work both independently and in conjunction with peers and management to meet the business objectives of the Compliance and Ethics processes and procedures. 
    • Special Projects

    QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS)

    Education:  Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and experience required. Graduate degree and / or professional certification preferred. 

    Experience:  

    • Seven (7) or more years’ work experience required.
    • Corporate Compliance and Ethics experience, preferred.
    • Investigations/monitoring experience, preferred.

    • Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with individuals and groups from different disciplines. 
    • Strong Interview skills.
    • Able to work both independently and collaborate with others within the organization.
    • Strong organizational abilities with an attention to detail. Has the flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and rapid changes.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment related to sensitive matters.
    • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Adds value by delivering work products of the highest quality, able to proactively overcome issues to ensure delivery.
    • Ability to build consensus by understanding the concerns and needs of others and how to realistically manage expectations.
    • A strong value system, unquestioned integrity, and superior listening skills.

    WORK CONDITIONS

    • Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.  
    • Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends. 
    • Periodically travel as business requires. 
    • Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
