Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist supports and coordinates the activities of the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Assists with the delivery and maintenance of programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist prepares materials that communicate the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Supports or delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist generates reports of compliance monitoring statistics, investigations, outcomes, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. May administer reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Provide advice for the Borough on environmental matters, proposals, legislation and documents; performs other special projects as assigned by the Director or the Mayor.

Confer with and offers advice to Borough officials and employees on environmental issues; applies expertise in a variety of environmental fields including wildlife management, oil and gas, natural resources, land use, Alaskan Native, and related matters to further the NSB interests.
Manage assigned environmental issues; provide policy advice on environmental matters involving Federal, local and state entities.
Act as a liaison for the NSB with Federal and state government agencies, oil and gas industry representatives, and other stakeholders with interest in environmental affairs.
Draft, amend, present and advocate for NSB proposals, policies, legal positions and negotiating strategies to protect and preserve NSB wildlife, environmental and cultural values.
Represent the Borough at various hearings, meetings, conferences, and negotiations as directed by the Mayor or Director.
Review pertinent decisions, policies, and other environmental matters pertaining to the Borough.
Monitor and reviews trends in legislation, public policy and other environmental issues; recommends operational, procedural and policy improvements.
Will be required to travel to the villages and off slope.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge of Borough policies and procedures.
Knowledge of State of Alaska statutes, rules, administrative orders, policies and procedures, applicable Federal rules and regulations.
Knowledge of techniques, sources, databases and other research tools.
Skill in reviewing and assessing legal issues and documents.
Skill in utilizing and evaluating electronic research and on-line systems.
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science
Two years work experience in environmental and policy issues; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience;
Valid Alaska Driver's License that meets North Slope Borough insurance criteria.
