Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist supports and coordinates the activities of the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Assists with the delivery and maintenance of programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist prepares materials that communicate the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Supports or delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist generates reports of compliance monitoring statistics, investigations, outcomes, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. May administer reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. The Director of Compliance will be required to assist and guide the Compliance Officers/Monitors and the District/Regional Residential Community Manager in the coordination, general administration, monitoring of the Section 42 compliance work for apartment properties involved in the LIHTC Program Section 42 of the IRS code. Knowledge, Abilities and Other Qualities The ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a variety of practical situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may occasionally call for minor deviations. Computer literacy and proficiency in programs like MS Excel spreadsheets and Word documents The ability to think rationally beyond a specific set of instructions. The capability to work at a fast pace and with multiple tasks, perform duties while under pressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner, interact/communicate with other site employees, residents, visitors, and the public in a professional and pleasant manner. Legible penmanship and accurate typing skills The ability to correctly deal with lease documents, fill out paperwork, and keep accurate records. The ability to work with figures. The ability to compute rental amounts, prorates, discounts, percentages, and basic math computations. The capability to operate fax/copy machine, telephone, calculator, and computer. Must have good communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with all types of people and have a professional phone manner. Self-motivation to set and accomplish goals personally and for the company required. Experience Training and Education High school diploma or equivalency Required Prior Section 42 experience and HUD experience and other state agency program experience preferred.
