Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist supports and coordinates the activities of the organization's global ethics and compliance function. Assists with the delivery and maintenance of programs to assess and manage legal and regulatory compliance risks and establish high ethical standards of conduct for the organization. Being an Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist prepares materials that communicate the organization's ethical standards, policies, and regulations. Supports or delivers employee training programs that raise awareness about ethics-related topics such as Anti-Bribery, Anti-Corruption, Antitrust, Conflicts of Interest, and others. Additionally, Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist generates reports of compliance monitoring statistics, investigations, outcomes, and remediations of any non-compliant actions. May administer reporting systems or helplines for employees, customers, contractors, and other stakeholders to disclose violations of the organization's ethical standards, violations of law, or policies without fear of retaliation. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Corporate Ethics & Compliance Specialist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Description

    As a Commercial Compliance Specialist at OOIDA, you will play a critical role in ensuring our members understand commercial vehicle regulations and standards. Your responsibilities will include monitoring regulatory changes, providing guidance to members on compliance issues, and advocating for fair and reasonable regulations that support the interests of independent truckers.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Maintains a clear understanding of the industry, Federal rules and regulations that pertain to the industry, and how the regulations affect members, vendors, suppliers, and other departments within the Association.
    • Maintains a clear understanding of the rules pertaining to Motor Carrier Lease agreements and how those rules and regulations are applied.
    • Maintains knowledge of legislative issues both past and current and how these issues affect members, vendors, suppliers and other departments within the Association.
    • Understands clauses and terms associated with Broker Carrier Agreements; will be required to do lease reviews for members.
    • Lends assistance to members regarding CSA, CARB, 49 CFR 350 through 399 and other federal and state regulations pertaining to trucking.
    • Educates and assists members with all aspects of trucking.
    • Communicates often with attorneys, Federal and State offices and officials, through email, phone conversations, faxes and face to face meetings.

    Qualifications


    Required

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related field within the trucking industry.
    • Minimum 2 years over the road driving experience

    • Knowledge of AS400 and Content Manager
