What You'll Do
We're looking for a dedicated individual with an exceptional work ethic to join our Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis team at Principal Financial Group as a Financial Analyst III. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to leverage analytical thinking, visualization, communication, and collaboration skills to advance our enterprise management reporting capabilities. This position is based in our Des Moines, IA, USA office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute on the enterprise financial management reporting vision to deliver key insights and business critical financial information to senior leaders.
- Collaborate with business partners at all levels to analyze financial information and draw insights critical to advancing transparent understanding of enterprise financial performance.
- Develop modeling and reporting in support of the annual enterprise goal setting process.
- Participate in the quarterly earnings call preparation process.
- Opportunity to enhance the enterprise key performance indicator process, insights, and reporting.
- Work towards self-development by expanding your knowledge of the department, business, and industry.
- Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance, or equivalent experience.
- Two to four years of relevant experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving, leadership, and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates the ability to accept and adapt to a changing environment.
- Knowledge of Essbase, spreadsheet and database or similar PC software packages, or the ability to learn, is preferred.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$71250 - $95950 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

This role offers an in-office and hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek) work arrangement in Des Moines, IA.
