Corporate Giving Director jobs in Kansas

Corporate Giving Director identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and implements strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Director manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Director maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Giving Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     A day in the life of the Director of Corporate Development could be:


    Corporate Engagement (B2B interactions)

    Initiate, promote, execute, and evaluate initiatives that recruit corporations to support the University through contributions. Develop and implement annual and long-range goals, objectives, and strategies to maximize the support of various corporations. Develop and implement an ongoing program of communication with corporate contacts that recognizes past and current commitments and fosters support for future efforts; and work closely with University administration, faculty, and staff to help coordinate fundraising approaches to corporations.


    Collaboration

    Build a strategy in collaboration with colleagues and work closely with University partners to help coordinate fundraising approaches to corporations.


    Corporate Solicitations

    Develops and implements solicitation strategies to build and develop mutually beneficial partnerships with corporate entities. Manage a portfolio of prospective and ongoing relationships with University corporate partners, helping to identify synergies and new funding sources and develop and implement strategies related to K-State research, academic programs, and strategic plans/needs of the University.  


    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • 5 years professional transferrable experience in positions that were metrics-focused, required measurable output and relationship building or in a fundraising environment
    • Experience building cross-functional, interdisciplinary and/or intra-institutional partnerships
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with a diverse contact base through verbal and written means, with an emphasis on engaged listening, and success working in a team setting 
    • A valid motor vehicle operator’s license with an acceptable driving record

    • 3 years experience focused explicitly on corporate relations or business development in a nonprofit, higher education, or similar fundraising organization with progressive responsibility for production
    • Ability to prioritize and organize sophisticated projects, deliver results, and meet project timelines
    • Results-oriented, quality-driven and team oriented
    • Solid understanding of development techniques and systems based on past performance
    • Ability to translate relationship building beyond individuals to building relationships with corporations and private Foundations
