Corporate Giving Director identifies and assesses the causes and organizations that align with the company's values and goals and implements strategic plans to support them. Establishes and maintains relationships with nonprofit organizations and community leaders to ensure effective collaboration and support of giving initiatives. Being a Corporate Giving Director manages the budget for charitable giving, evaluates grant proposals, and monitors the impact of the company's charitable contributions. Develops employee volunteer programs to engage employees, offer participation to wider audience, and raise awareness about the organization's charitable initiatives. Additionally, Corporate Giving Director maintains current knowledge of best practices in corporate giving and philanthropy. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Corporate Giving Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Corporate Giving Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     THE POSITION:

    The Director, Corporate and Individual Giving leads Food For Health’s efforts in corporate and individual donor prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship to meet fund development goals in alignment with the organization’s strategic plan. This position also works strategically with the program team to identify opportunities for projects, events, and other means of corporate and individual donor engagement and monetary support. The position reports to the Senior Director, Fund Development.

     

    POSITION SUCCESS FACTORS:

    • Meet quarterly fundraising goals for corporate and individual giving with a focus on growth and retention
    • Meet moves management goal of 20 meetings/month
    • Donor retention rate of at least 45% for first-time donors and 60% for repeat donors

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Build and manage a portfolio of prospective corporate donors using the moves management framework
    • Build and manage a portfolio of prospective major gift donors using the moves management framework
    • Provide engagement opportunities for potential donors & strategic partners that lead to fund development revenue
    • Provide strategy & framework for lead generation efforts
    • Create proposals that align donor aspirations with organizational needs leading to fund development revenue

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Corporate Partnership Development and Management (75%)

    Partnership Cultivation and Management:

    • Research and identify prospective partners who are aligned with the organization’s mission and programs.
    • Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of corporate donors and prospects to meet annual fundraising goals.
    • Actively cultivate and manage corporate relationships through dedicated sponsorship activities including events and projects, as well as general corporate contributions to Food For Health. Provide regular updates and reports on the impact of their contributions.
    • Build and organize curated prospectuses and sponsorship templates for corporate funding opportunities that align with strategic priorities and deliver a compelling value proposition to prospective corporate supporters.
    • Maintain corporate funding, partnership, conference, and event records and a calendar of related deadlines and reports.

     

    Fundraising Campaigns and Events:

    • Plan and execute corporate giving campaigns and fundraising events in collaboration with the program teams.
    • Coordinate sponsorship opportunities and ensure the fulfillment of benefits for corporate donors.
    • Collaborate with the communications team to create compelling fundraising materials and collateral to support corporate giving initiatives.
    • Prepare and submit grant proposals and funding applications to corporate foundations and giving programs.

     

    Impact Assessment and Reporting:

    • Monitor and evaluate the impact of corporate giving initiatives.
    • Prepare regular reports and presentations to share outcomes and progress with internal stakeholders and corporate partners.
    • Work with Finance on reporting and collections.

     

    Individual Giving Cultivation and Management (25%)

    • Develop, manage, and maintain a portfolio of individual donors, major gift and planned giving prospects.
    • Develop and execute strategies to identify, research, cultivate and solicit qualified prospects for major and planned gifts.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with individual donors and prospects, through personal visits and other forms of direct personal contact in accordance with performance targets.
    • Update skills regularly to enhance knowledge of major gifts and planned giving trends, best practices, and tools. Identify creative and innovative tactics for growth in identified donor communities.
    • Expand and grow donor base.
    • Manage ongoing donor relationships through regular contact, personal visits, communication, and follow-up.
    • Arrange meetings with donors and prospects for cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation.
    • Consistently document key conversations and other pertinent donor information in donor management database.

    PERSONAL SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES: 

    • 4-year degree in business or related field
    • Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in corporate/individual fundraising or similar role
    • Outstanding interpersonal, organization, and time management skills
    • Ability to take initiative, manage multiple projects, and prioritize effectively
    • Excellent writing, editing, presentation, and communications skills
    • Well-built professional network of corporate and individual relationships and a willingness to open doors to new funding opportunities
    • Motivated initiative-taker, able to think creatively and work effectively in a fast-moving, rapidly developing environment
