Position Summary:
The Director of Corporate Relations and Special Projects at Oklahoma City University's Meinders School of Business is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with corporate entities fostering relationships to enhance the school's image and reputation as well as to drive student enrollment and build pathways for student internships and placement. The director also engages with internal and external stakeholders in designated fundraising and alumni relations activities in collaboration with University Advancement and serves as a liaison to the Admissions Office in support of student recruitment efforts. Additionally, the director oversees special projects that align with the School's mission and goals.
The director reports to the Dean of the Business School and is a key member of the leadership team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of five years of experience in business development, academic and/or student services program coordination, and administration is required.
Job Duties:

- Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate relations strategy to establish and strengthen partnerships with local, national, and international corporations designed to yield student enrollment, internship, and other opportunities.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key corporate stakeholders to support the School's initiatives, including sponsorships, internships, and collaborative projects.
- Act as the primary liaison between the School of Business and corporate partners, ensuring effective communication and alignment of objectives.
- Research industry trends and business needs to identify opportunities for partnership and collaboration. Internships and Student Programming
- Centralize and promote the internship initiatives of the School.
- Coordinate with the university Career Services department to ensure internship development and promotion activities are aligned with the School’s needs.
- In collaboration with faculty, provide support for student groups and organizations. Recruitment Support
- Develop, build, and strengthen relationships with regional community colleges, high school counselors, superintendents, teachers, partners, and students for recruiting future MSB students.
- Collaborate appropriately with members of the Office of Admissions to support undergraduate and graduate recruitment efforts including student recruitment events and activities. Advancement/Alumni
- Work closely with the Dean and the university's advancement department to identify funding opportunities and secure financial support from corporate partners.
- Create and implement fundraising initiatives that align with the School's priorities and objectives.
- Work with the university’s advancement department alumni relations team to cultivate alumni relationships and information. Engage MSB faculty, administrators, and staff as well as others on campus in alumni relations events, projects, and programming. Special Projects
- Collaborate appropriately with University Communications and the Office of Admissions to develop and implement strategies to create and support an effective social media presence designed to attract future students, support current students, and engage alumni.
- Participate as a member of MSB leadership team.
- Work with the University Communication to update and maintain MSB website.
- Direct all activities related to writing and publishing MSB newsletters.
- Manage a group of student workers to accomplish various tasks related to social media and recruiting strategies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have computer literacy, familiarity with Microsoft Office (PC/MAC), Excel, email, and file sharing. Banner software knowledge preferred. Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or similar graphic design software. Ability to acquire new software skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Skill in using tact and diplomacy in verbal and written communication.
- Skill in cultural competence and an ability to develop a successful rapport with international students and related constituencies.
- Proactive self-starter with ability to produce results.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work without supervision, prioritizes essential tasks, and meets deadlines.
- Strong customer-service orientation and professional demeanor are essential, as this position interacts with external employers, alumni, parents, community partners, faculty, and students.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- Work is primarily indoors, but requires the incumbent to be in an outdoor environment when traveling between campus buildings or off campus.
- Standard office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, Monday through Friday.
- Attendance at evening and weekend events is occasionally required.
- Off-campus, state and regional travel may occasionally be required.
- Incumbent will be exposed to frequent noise caused by telephones and office machines.
