Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a City Clerk. The City Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with budget preparation, and providing administrative support to various departments within the city. The ideal candidate will have strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties:
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software
- Perform double-entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy of financial transactions
- Assist with budget preparation and forecasting
- Prepare and submit regulatory reports in a timely manner
- Reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis
- Assist with financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
- Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary financial information
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling meetings and maintaining records

Experience:
- Previous experience in accounting or finance is required
- Proficiency in using accounting software and other financial tools
- Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to analyze financial data and identify trends or discrepancies
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
