Correctional Officer, Sr. jobs in Bristol, CT
Correctional Officer, Sr. enforces rules and regulations in a prison, jail or other holding facility. Presides over prisoners awaiting trial or those who have been convicted of a crime. Being a Correctional Officer, Sr. oversees prisoner conduct and safety. Supervises prisoners during meals, recreation, work and other daily activities. Additionally, Correctional Officer, Sr. documents violations and takes appropriate disciplinary actions. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Firearms Certification. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Correctional Officer, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. SCOPE OF POSITION
Respond to incidents, complaints and alarms and complete written reports as necessary. Greet and assist employees, visitors and patients and patrol buildings and grounds in accordance with supervisor instruction. Direct traffic, enforce parking regulations and intervening in situations with individuals who may be a danger to themselves or others.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CT State Certified Security Guard
- Current CT Driver License required.
