The Cost Accountant will primarily work on assisting with ERP implementation projects that are currently occurring at multiple subsidiaries the Company owns, as well as establishing general cost accounting routines where necessary. This individual will collaborate with the site leadership and corporate accounting team in executing tasks. Must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, thorough, engaging, and team-oriented.
What You Will Do
Accounting

Partner with local Operations team to document necessary BOM and routing information required for ERP implementation.

Perform testing of transactions in the sandbox environment to evaluate inventory costing is properly performed and calculated within the ERP, partner with Site Controller for accounting transactions.

Prepare monthly inventory and costing journal entries.

Own and maintain internal controls around inventory and its valuation, establish and perform necessary routines for account reconciliation procedures.

Analyze slow moving inventory items and items that have become obsolete. Perform reserve calculations and prepare journal entries needed for approval.

Prepare inventory cut-off analysis at month-end.

Coordinate completion of inventory checklist and coordinate periodic inventory count procedures with each site ops/finance team.

Perform variance analysis to assess any updates needed to the standard costing.

Assist with year-end audit in inventory and related costing areas. Directly work with the Company’s independent auditors to meet the audit deadline.

Perform ad-hoc analysis related to product margins, price and mix as needed.

Responsible for preparation and execution of Standard Cost Update.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- ERP experience is a plus, D365 is preferred
- 3-5 years of cost accounting experience
- Big four experience is a plus
- Biotech/manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong excel skills: the ability to roll up (or down) and convey critical information crisply
- Strong familiarity with GAAP and current proclamations is required
- Self-directed, collaborative and team-oriented
