Job Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain a cost system that ensures accurate costing.

Prepare project cost reports and variance analysis.

Review and analyze standard and actual costs for variances and prepare reports.

Update standard costs and ensure accuracy in the Bill of Materials (BOM’s)

Prepare, analyze, and report monthly gross margin analysis by customer and production jobs.
-
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services to determine effects on costs.
-
Study and collect data to determine the costs of business activities such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor.
-
Schedule and monitor the cycle counting program, including preparing monthly cycle count results and preparing and managing the quarterly cycle count remediation program.
-
Prepare periodic inventory reserves reconciliation, analyze inventory for risk, and monitor with support from internal stakeholders.

Month, Quarter, and Annual closing procedures related to Cost Accounting responsibility areas assigned.

Work with the Purchasing and Shop teams and advise on inventory transactions.

Understand commission agreements, make sound recommendations, and calculate commission expenses.
-
Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.
-
Assist with the scrap tracking and reporting process.
-
Implement inventory management best practices to minimize carrying costs and stockouts.

Reconcile balance sheet accounts timely and accurately.
-
Process wire transfers/ACH payments.
-
Assist Payroll process.
-
Create and update documentation of assigned processes as needed.

Various projects to assist accounting management.

Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance and three (3) to five (5) years in manufacturing cost accounting experience is preferred.

Analytical skills with a keen sense of organization and detail

ERP experience is required.

Understanding of U.S. GAAP as it applies to a manufacturing environment is required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proficiency in Excel, experience in manipulating large databases a plus.

Significant hands-on experience using an integrated ERP system.
-
Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting.

Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Extraordinary interpersonal skills to work in cross-functional teams.
