Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager will be a pivotal leader within the Accounting Department, responsible for overseeing daily financial operations, ensuring precision in financial reporting, and analyzing financial data to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial records.
• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company and related entities.
• Review financial and job costs data to identify trends and discrepancies, resolving irregularities.
• Work with management to develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts.
• Assist with external audits, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Provide support for tax return/report preparation and compliance.
• Participate in risk management activities related to insurance and bonds for the company, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Work closely with project teams and other departments to support company business objectives.
• Assist with preparation of construction payment applications and invoices.
• Provide guidance and training to accounting team members.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 6 years of progressive accounting experience; construction industry experience is a plus; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Active CPA and/or CCIFP designation is a plus.
• Proven ability to supervise and develop staff effectively.
• Intermediate to advanced skills with Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with business taxes (federal and state income, sales/use, payroll).
• Experience with auditing processes and procedures
• Proficiency in accounting software applications, experience with CMiC is ideal.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and an ability to recognize inconsistencies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• High commitment to maintaining ethical standards and confidential matters.
