Cost Accounting Manager ensures that costs for the company's products and services are allocated according to corporate procedures and in compliance financial accounting standards. Oversees the cost control systems, manages and interprets cost audits, and prepares cost accounting reports for presentation to top management. Being a Cost Accounting Manager gathers historical cost data (materials, labor, depreciation, operating expenses, etc.), to compare budgets with actual expenses. Manages the cost accounting staff to complete projects. Additionally, Cost Accounting Manager requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a Director. The Cost Accounting Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met, adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Duties:
- Handle daily office operations, including answering the phone, coordinating and scheduling appointments and meetings, managing correspondence
- Prepare client billing/invoices and manage collections/accounts receivable
- Maintain office supplies
- Manage filing systems and ensure document organization
- Provide administrative support to staff members
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cpa office management or administrative role
- Strong clerical and organizational skills
- Proficient in schedule management and the Microsoft Office suite of products
- Excellent phone etiquette and ability to operate phone systems
