Cost Accounting Supervisor jobs in Grand Rapids, MI

The corporate Accounting Supervisor will oversee Accounts Payable and manage a wide range of accounting tasks, including compliance with GAAP and IFRS, in the preparation and maintenance of accounting records, including but not limited to: fixed, affiliate liabilities and receivables, ex-pat payroll reconciliations, government reports, financial statement preparations, audit and tax support and other financial accounting duties.
 

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all daily activity as required for areas of responsibility.
• Drives the monthly/quarterly/year-end closing process.
• Prepares accurate and timely financial statements for review.
• Prepares journal entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Responsible for all intercompany activity and ensures proper invoicing.
• Reconciles affiliate receivables and payables.
• Compiles required data to complete state/local tax reporting in a timely manner.
• Reviews Payroll for posting and calculates associated fringe entries.
• Prepares the monthly DoP activity for tti and TTM.
• Provides analyses for the year-end audit as deemed necessary by the Manager, Finance and Quality.
• Performs the necessary tasks for fixed asset accounting and reporting and ensures the data integrity of the Sage Fixed Asset Accounting System, and general ledger, for book and tax amounts.
• Creates and maintains Assets in Progress report. In addition, acts as the primary contact for project leaders.
• Prepares year end information for preparation of deferred taxes and income tax returns.
• Works cooperatively with the planning function for monthly/quarter/yearly reporting.
• Supervises the Accounts Payable and ensures compliance and integrity of the function.
• Responsible for Employee development of direct report.
• Alerts supervisor to potential internal control deficiencies.
• Performs other projects as deemed necessary.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting with seven years accounting experience.
• Knowledge of asset accounting required.
• Ability to work productively and focused to meet deadlines.
• Advanced Excel experience required.
• CPA certification preferred.
• SAP experience - required.
• Prior Supervisory experience required.
• Must be organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
