Cost Analyst jobs in Illinois

Job duties Provide cost information and operations analysis on procurements of plastics products for business decision-making; review and assemble industry and vendor data into customized databases, and analyze and create analytical reports for management decision making; analyze procurement patterns to identify and take advantage of purchasing/contracting cost savings through quantitative models, such as time series analysis and multiple-regression analysis, to optimize decision making under uncertain situations; provide strategic and technical support for the overseas department and the purchasing department by optimizing procurement efficiency and cost-effectiveness through accurate planning, innovative sourcing, and cost reduction; conduct analysis on plastics supplier performance metrics for a strategic supply base and lead the strategic sourcing analysis efforts within a category; support the implementation of cost reduction initiatives with suppliers within a category or commodity area; support management in working to identify future sourcing/procuring opportunities.

Job Requirements: Master’s degree in project management, economics, finance, or other closely related field, plus 2 years of related experience in data analysis.
