Cost Engineer - Construction develops and implements cost control procedures, documents, and tools to support and enhance project budget management. Collects and coordinates procurement and other cost information used to develop cost forecasting, cost control strategies, and project risk analysis. We are looking for a clean-cut, well groomed, professional who can represent the face of our company. If you have strong experience in commercial/residential building construction AND have intermediate computers skills with a huge emphasis on Microsoft Excel formatting, you could be the perfect candidate. Keep in mind, this is both an in-office position (meaning heavy mental labor) as well as a site visit position (meaning travel every other week conducting site visits throughout the United States...usually Tuesdays through Thursdays and home for the weekends. These site visits include sometimes climbing ladders and getting on roofs, lots of walking, taking notes, taking pictures, taking measurements as needed, etc).
You must be able to type at least 30 words per minute and possess intermediate computer skills (especially in Microsoft Excel) and have building construction experience to apply for this position.
· Are you proficient in and have a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel? This will be a daily activity. If you do not know Excel well, you will hate this job.
· Do you have experience with, and a strong comprehension of, property construction regarding the following: structural, foundations, electrical, plumbing, mechanical/HVAC, framing, roofing systems, etc.?
· Can you read and comprehend blueprints/construction drawings?
· Do you have experience performing construction take-offs?
· Are you open to travel throughout the United States (for 2-4 days at a time) and conducting site visits every other week (about 40% travel)?

· How are your people skills? Are you professional, presentable, well-groomed and pleasant to be around? You will be representing our company in your groom and appearance as well as interacting with client, tenants, landlords, etc. during site visits...so you must be able to have strong interpersonal and communication skills.

· Can you think creatively?
· This position requires you to speak English very well. There are many technical terms with this position and communication and understanding is key.
· Can you work in our Mesa AZ Office - Monday-Friday, 8-9 hours per day?

· Compensation will range between $25 - $28 per hour, based on experience
