Has extensive technical knowledge of processes and materials specific to the type of project. Additionally, Cost Engineer - Construction experienced with the cost-estimating methods best suited to the nature of the project. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Cost Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Position overview:
The project involves construction of approximately 7.0 miles of an 8.2 miles-long seepage canal, maintenance road, and Inflow-Outflow Canal within the Everglades Agricultural Area (EAA) stockpiling of excess muck soils and excavation materials and incidental related work. The work also included clearing, grubbing, de-mucking, foundation preparation, installation of a seepage cutoff wall, canal backfilling, blasting, and all incidental related work to prepare approximately 15.3 miles of foundation for a 17.3-mile-long embankment dam.
Surface and subsurface water management are required to conduct work in the dry, in a neat and orderly manner, and involves construction of the 6,500-acre A-2 Stormwater Treatment Area (STA) and associated project features which include, canals, Pump Stations, Inflow, Outflow, Discharge, Spillway, and Culvert Structures, Levees, and Earthwork.
