Collects and coordinates procurement and other cost information used to develop cost forecasting, cost control strategies, and project risk analysis. Being a Cost Engineer - Construction performs data analysis to identify project trends and budget deviations and highlight cost underruns and overruns. Has extensive technical knowledge of processes and materials specific to the type of project. Additionally, Cost Engineer - Construction experienced with the cost-estimating methods best suited to the nature of the project. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Cost Engineer - Construction work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     You will be part of a top-performing Construction Team and report to an experienced Project Manager. This highly visible position regularly interacts with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Site Supervisors, and company Operations Leaders. Come join the best!

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a Cost Engineer, you will:

    • Play a key role in delivering a complete suite of cost-control services and financial support for high tech construction projects.
    • Coordinate development and implementation of project work breakdown structure (WBS).
    • Coordinate and develop appropriate control budgets consistent with project estimate and WBS.
    • Implement and monitor costs within each project stage and for entire project until completion or close-out.
    • Collect and compile progress and cost data and develop cost-control worksheets and reports for review by project team.
    • Review financial data related to accruals, invoice payments, purchase orders and material deliveries and other financial data.
    • Provide cost input and implement the cost element of change management procedure.
    • Coordinate and develop project work-in-place, commitment and estimate at complete forecasts.
    • Develop and issue various reports.
    • Develop and maintain productivity database and reports.

    REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, or Mathematics
    • Well-rounded base of knowledge in construction disciplines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • Strong prioritization and organizational skills; detail-oriented
    • Working knowledge of programs such as Excel, and Word
