Collects data and analyzes all project costs, including raw materials, labor, equipment and tooling to ensure estimates are accurate. Being a Cost Estimation Engineer identifies and quantifies potential cost uncertainties to ensure costing models capture the full range of potential costs. Updates costs as necessary based on new information and project scope changes. To ensure success, the cost accountant should be confident, professional, and meticulous with a keen interest in the cost-efficient operations of the organization. Outstanding presentation and report-writing skills with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team is essential for this role. The cost accountant will work closely with one or more Divisional Controllers within the accounting team. Experience in Construction or similar industries is preferred.
