Ti-SALES, Inc., a leading wholesale distributor for waterworks and wastewater products and services in New England and Upstate New York is seeking an energetic, hardworking individual to work in our warehouse. The successful candidate for this position must be punctual, conscientious, friendly, and be looking for a long term situation with a highly successful and profitable company. The ability and willingness to learn, while willing to take initiative is a very important requirement.
General Requirements
Candidates must have a “customer first” attitude and be willing to do whatever it takes to support the strong team. Good computer skills and the ability to learn computer programs related to sales, inventory management, and shipping software packages is required. These programs will be used daily. The willingness and ability to learn about technical products and assist customers with questions about those products is required. Extensive training will be provided.
All applicants should have a high school diploma or a GED. Certification in the safe operation of a forklift truck is not necessary is considered a plus. Warehouse worker applicants should have prior experience working in a warehouse. Experience of 2 to 3 years in a similar role is preferred.
Candidate must be able to work on their feet for a full 8-hour day and lift a minimum of 60 pounds. Picking orders, packaging, and shipping completed orders as they come in are the primary tasks of the job. The position also requires the candidate to work outside in the yard to help customers with product selection and loading in all types of weather conditions.
Building and grounds maintenance are the responsibility of the warehouse staff. Candidate may be required to shovel snow or operate a snow blower in all the areas around the building. Keeping the yard, dock and other areas around the building clean and tidy are part of the everyday duties.
From time to time, the need to answer the phone and assist customers or take messages will be required.
Detailed Job Responsibilities:
Shipping
Picking products for customer orders is the first duty of the job. Packing and boxing up packages for shipment via UPS using the WorldShip software program, or getting the order prepared for shipping by common carrier by stacking boxes on a pallet and shrink wrapping them. A bill of lading and shipping labels need to be created for all common carrier shipments.
Ensure all shipments are accurate by having another employee double check the product.
Receiving
Product arrives at the warehouse throughout the day from many various companies such as UPS, Fed-Ex, Conway Trucking, R & l Carriers, Severance and other carriers. The candidate will be trained on the process for receiving and storing newly arrived material.
Fork truck operation is required to get the pallets off the incoming trucks. Candidate will use the fork truck every day. One smaller fork truck is used on the dock and a bigger one for outside. If needed, training will be provided.
Counter Sales
In the warehouse, candidate will be responsible for writing up sales orders for contractors, plumbers, landscapers, and homeowners who come through the warehouse for service. Knowledgeable, timely, and courteous service is a hallmark of the company’s success. Many customers from the local water departments also come to the warehouse and place orders with us.
Our customers count on us to have the ability to assist in figuring out the exact part they are looking for. Many times the candidate must work with the customer to figure out exactly which parts and pieces they will need to complete the job.
The warehouse staff is responsible for the complete process which involves writing up the order in the quotes and order software system, pulling all the items for the customer, and if needed boxing the items up for them. The candidate must be trustworthy and accountable since we accept cash, checks, credit cards, and process payments through the customer’s account.
