Who we are: HIGH DESERT DELIVERY, INC. (independent contractor for FedEx Ground, Inc.)

What are we looking for: Full-time delivery drivers to dispatch out of the Burns, Oregon FedEx terminal. M-F 7:30am - 4/5pm shifts.

Compensation:

• $18/ hour starting pay
• $250 bonus if hired from another FedEx location
• Discretionary bonuses for outstanding performance
• Overtime available (1.5x) after 40 hours (full time), Direct-to-overtime pay after five days (full time)

General duties

• Conduct pre/post vehicle inspections daily
• Examine and organize daily load prior to departure (vehicles are pre-loaded by Package Handlers)
• Pickup and deliver to business and residential customers within the prescribed time windows
• Learn the route(s) and customer needs serviced by High Desert Delivery, and abide by FedEx Ground customer service protocol
• Handle and maneuver packages without damage, and without injury to oneself or others
• Operate vehicles and equipment safely, securely, and competently

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license (CDL not required)
• One year verifiable professional driving experience within the last three years preferred (or five years experience within the last 10 years)
• Clean driving record - no major at fault accidents or major violations within the last three years
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam, drug screen, and criminal background check
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and maneuver oversized packages up to 150 pounds with use of a hand truck
• Ability to safely drive and work outside in all weather conditions
• Own and operate a smart phone, and be able to learn job-applicable technology and applications

CDL License is NOT required!!! Our FedEx Ground company is looking for people who have been Courier Drivers, held Courier jobs, Delivery Drivers, or have done Pickup Truck delivery jobs at companies like FedEx, Pizza Hut, Safeway, Harney Rock, and Humboldt, we want you!
