Supervised by: Camp Director

Minimum Qualifications: Hiring subject to applicable URJ and Pennsylvania State background checks.

The Program Director oversees and coordinates summer camp programming including daily electives, Kinesthetic Arts (active movement), free choice options, and evening programs by bunk, unit or all of camp.

Calm under pressure with a proven track record of excellent organizational and communications skills; comfort in managing multiple projects with and for multiple stakeholders. Must be able to demonstrate flexibility and work as part of a team. Love and/or respect for The Arts and a diverse community is a must. 21 years of age by June 1, 2024.

Responsibilities

JEWISH

• Support and guide faculty in their roles with Electives, Kinesthetic Arts, Shabbat Shalectives, and Working Groups
• Promote shmirat haNefesh – the health of our souls – as a key concept in camp, in partnership with the Community Care Director

ARTS

• Support campers in their skills training and artistic growth
• Cheer at showcase

CAMP

• Manage programming supplies (purchasing, inventory)
• Write programs and coordinate all Evening Programs
• Create a schedule for Kinarts (and manage staffing)
• Oversee Chofesh – Chill time options
• Support faculty and staff in elective creation
• Organize camper elective preferences
• Design and staff weekly Shabbat Sha-lectives
• Actively participate and encourage others in evening programs and camp activities
• Contribute to the overall positive morale of the camp community
• Coordinate with Assistant Director on faculty daily schedules
• Coordinate with Summer Operations Director on all programming needs including but not limited to:

• Supplies
• Set-up and break-down
• AV needs

Leadership Team Responsibilities:

• Abide by and enforce safety and security protocols and policies with all participants and staff.

• Attend Spring Leadership Retreat as scheduled
• Attend daily Leadership Team meetings
• Attend routine meetings with Camp Director and Medical Team as scheduled
• Contribute to the overall positive morale of the camp community.
• Serve as Senior Shmira (nightly on-duty leadership coverage) as assigned
• Maintain strict confidentiality
• Other responsibilities as needed
