Overview:
SCHEELS is dedicated to delivering authentic and relevant brand messaging across 34 markets. Over the past five years, we’ve developed an in-house Brand Creative and Production team, and we’re currently seeking an experienced Creative Manager to lead projects spanning broadcast, radio, digital platforms, and internal communications for over 13,000 associates. This role involves managing cross-functional teams, developing Creative Briefs, aligning messaging with project goals, and analyzing asset effectiveness. With filming and photography at our in-house studio and on location. The Creative Manager will play a key role in shaping impactful messaging that drives SCHEELS' success.
Responsibilities:
- Build Creative Concepts
- Research and explore consumer insights and the competitive landscape to enhance building authentic and relevant content
- Participate in creative brainstorm sessions for concept development
- Manage Creative Project Direction and Information
- Strong leadership skills to inspire and align cross-functional teams toward common creative goals.
- Build Creative Briefs by collaborating with stakeholders from across the company to align project goals, product focus and persona targets
- Establish clear creative goals for projects, aligning with brand guidelines and objectives.
- Collaborate with Creative Project Managers to assign roles and responsibilities.
- Assign timelines for projects from inception to completion.
- Determine review/editing timeline and assigned stakeholders
- Determine key metrics to measure success to stated goals.
- Identify and address potential creative roadblocks and conflicts to complete projects.
- Uphold marketing standards
- Ensure that the Scheels brand style guide is upheld
- Organize daily routines, budget management and general administrative tasks
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills
- Manage Project Communication
- Share creative project direction, timelines and updates with MKT team, Ecomm and other relevant stakeholders
- Assist with company wide messaging on relevant topics
- Review project status with Creative Media Managers
- Share projects with ASL/CMO for review and approval
- Distribute approved assets to stakeholders including information about the creative goal to assist with strategy placement.
- Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with associates and external vendors
- Highly organized with ability to follow-up on the smallest details
- Join On-set Filming and Photography
- Serve as Executive Producer or Director with the on-set team to capture content as noted in Creative Brief.
- During production, secure feedback from experts or others with content knowledge to insure we are relevant and authentic
- Gather and Interpret Strategic Insights
- Gather data across the office on creative placement and effectiveness to reach goals
- Lead creative recap sessions across the office and within the Creative Team
- From strategic insights, work with the creative team to determine ways to improve creative content.
- Ability to quickly read reports and make sound Scheels business decisions

Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree; Preferred post graduate education in Media, Creative or Marketing
- At least 10 years of experience in creative development and brand management
- Proven experience leading creative teams in a design agency, marketing department, or related field
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative work across various mediums
- Experience working with clients to understand their needs and deliver creative solutions
- Proven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse personalities and experience levels, both independently and as part of a team.
- 7 years of supervisory experience
- Approved company driver with a valid driver’s license
Schedule:
Typical work week is 7am – 5pm – M-F. There are occasional weekend and evening hours and travel as needed. Average hours per week are between 50 and 55 hours.
