• Verify competence, medical and/or professional education, residency, internships, fellowships, additional formal training, relevant board certifications, health care affiliations, work history, military experiences, professional references, licensure and certifications, DEA certificates, malpractice coverage and privileges applicant is requesting.
• Maintain Policies/Procedures/Forms to remain compliant with local, state and federal regulations to meet requirements for licensure and certification.
• Query National Practitioner Data Bank as appropriate.
• Maintain Medical Staff privileging and credentialing database assuring accuracy and completeness.
• Act as a liaison between medical staff and other departments of Center and provide assistance in coordination of duties of medical staff.
• Organize and maintain Medical Staff credentialing and privileging electronic and paper files.
• Present completed files to Administrator for recommendation of approval of appointments and privileges.
• Maintain a working knowledge of Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and applicable Surgery Center policies to ensure medical staff's compliance with stated parameters.
• Familiarity with current Joint Commission Standards, State and Federal Law pertaining to Medical Staff and apply to privileging and credentialing process as needed.
• Other related responsibilities as required

Job Requirements:

• Associates or Baccalaureate degree in Healthcare/Allied Health Sciences from an accredited institution of postsecondary education.
• Proficient computer, filing and data entry experience - (word, excel, outlook).
• Working knowledge of surgical routine and medical terminology.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous Business Office (registration/payment processing), Health Information Management (HIPAA Federal Laws, ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS Coding/Billing, Record Management) or Medical Staff credentialing experience
