Description
Summary: To assist the lenders in underwriting commercial loans and consumer loans as needed to properly analyze and document the risks associated with the individual credits as well as any other issues necessary to properly evaluate the request for an extension of credit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities in the following but not limited to this only:
- Spread financial statements in CASH software
- Analyze financial information and key financial ratios in spreads
- Analyze guarantor tax returns and personal financial statements
- Analyze the specific credit request
- Recommend loan structure
- Reinforce adherence to loan policy
- Document and track violations to loan policy
- Document and track concentration issues
- Make recommendations in regard to loans
- Write queries and pull reports on an as needed basis
- Document RMA industry comparisons
- Pull Credit information on individuals, guarantors, principals
- Searches bank’s data base for credit information, credit specific information, documentation, and past credit approvals and underwriting
- Pull and complete all of the monthly reports for credit administration
- Research and Scrub various reports monthly
- Research and complete marketable securities report
- Research and complete the large borrower report
- Facilitate the ordering and maintaining of recent appraisals on all 5-6-7 risk graded credits
- Prepare and maintain the Senior Loan Committee minutes
- Prepare and maintain the Directors Loan Committee minutes
- Prepare packages and the agenda for Senior Loan Committee
- Prepare packages and reports for the Directors Loan Committee
- Prepare packages and reports for the Full Board of Directors meeting
- Senior Credit Analyst performs all of the duties above as well as training junior credit analysts
- Senior Credit Analyst reviews work of junior credit analysts
- Participate in Senior Loan Committee as a non-voting member
- Participate in Directors Loan Committee as a non-voting member
Qualifications:
Education/Skills:
Credit Analysts are required to hold a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Credit Analysts typically must have a high degree of technical competence. The ability to work independently and strong attention to details are required skills.

- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Up to date with legal, compliance and market risk related issues
- Ability to analyze cash flows, leverage, collateral and customer strength
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Sound judgement
Work Experience:
Two to five years’ experience working with credit or loan evaluation is required,
Physical Demands:
This position requires manual dexterity, the ability to lift files and open filing cabinets. This position requires bending, stooping or standing as necessary. Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
