The Credit & Collections Analyst’s duty is to oversee and control the overall credit exposure for accounts with assigned territories. The Analyst will work closely with his or her assigned sales representatives in an effort to reduce short payments, delinquent balances, and credit limit issues. The position also entails processing salesmen collections as well as applying on-account monies towards customer accounts.
The Credit & Collections Analyst shall be accountable to, and supervised by, the Director of Credit.
Essential Job Functions:
Control Credit Exposure:

Contact customers/salesmen regarding short payments, delinquent balances, and credit limit issues.

Schedule salesmen follow up or notate outgoing orders with driver collection instructions.

Interact with drivers/salesmen/customers regarding collecting issues

Review and address (release) credit hold orders.

Run credit reports on new and existing customers.

Run data base searches for existing customer identification.
-
Establish payment schedules for customers who cannot pay delinquent balance in full.

Monitor payment plans.
-
Limit and control the use of post dated checks.
A/R
-
Apply on-account monies associated with corresponding customers.

Research short payments, and adjust discrepant amounts.

Transfer credit balances to credit holding account as deemed appropriate.

Run statements/invoices.
-
Code in house checks.
-
Process salesmen collections.
NSF Checks
-
Notify sales and/or customer regarding NSF/returned checks and coordinate collection for the amount of the invoice.
Miscellaneous Tasks/Reports

Generate monthly statements.

Ongoing communication with management regarding specified parameters (pulling of orders, no payments on account, legal reviews)

Perform other miscellaneous and department related job duties.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Position requires a college level education or equivalent with 5 to 10 years work related experience.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast paced environment.
