Credit and Collections Manager develops and administers credit and collection programs. Oversees investigation of credit risk in customers and suppliers and advises on course of action for credit applications. Being a Credit and Collections Manager designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Monitors and negotiates the collection of overdue accounts. Additionally, Credit and Collections Manager monitors credit and collection processes and operations; makes recommendations on opportunities for improvement. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Credit and Collections Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Credit and Collections Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What You’ll Do

    Promotes and strives to create a world class experience for member

    Maintain a highly motivated, well-trained staff, maintaining effective employee relations

    Evaluate and strategize around the P&L for the branch

    Execute policies and procedures for the branch. Ensure that the branch is in compliance with federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies

    Evaluate the job performance of branch office staff to ensure quality of work and service to members, recommend salary increases

    Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, cross sell, and new accounts

    Monitor key products and sales within branch to ensure profitable and sound business practices and a high quality of service for members

    Manage the security and safety of the branch. Analyze and monitor security and safety policies and procedures on an on-going basis, ensure staff receives ongoing training on security, safety, and robbery procedures

    Ensure that staff receives and completes on-going training and development

    Schedule adequate staff to ensure efficient branch operation

    Gather background information on loan applicants by interviewing loan applicants and obtaining credit bureau reports. Verify debts and income, and determine collateral needs and payment plans for members applying for loans. Determine approval or provide solutions to find a way to enhance a member’s credit. Complete loan documents and disburse loans when approved

    Monitor branch operations to ensure a consistent, professional approach

    Assist staff or members in solving complex account problems

    Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch. Train employees to maximize opportunities for cross-selling products

    All other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    High school diploma/GED required
