Credit and Collections Supervisor is responsible for the activities and operations in the credit and collections department. Oversees the processing and verification of applications for credit and the solicitation for payment on overdue accounts. Being a Credit and Collections Supervisor investigates credit issues and suggests payment options to be approved. Ensures collectors follow all protocols, laws and regulations to collect payments efficiently. Additionally, Credit and Collections Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Credit and Collections Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. The Collections Manager handles escalated collections issues and ensures final resolution for each account. Accordingly, they are responsible for making sure the department delivers outstanding service to both internal and external members. A key component of service to external members is to identify their financial needs and to suggest appropriate Credit Union solutions. In addition, the Collections Manager is responsible for collecting credit card delinquency and over-limit balances.
The Collections Manager must comply with all federal and state regulations such as Fair Credit Reporting Act (REG V), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Reg F), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Act (UDAAP), Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Truth in Lending Act, (Reg Z), Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg CC), Credit Card Act, Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, The Privacy Act, Regulation CC, etc., as well as all Old Hickory Credit Union policies and procedures.
Full-time Position: Monday - Friday, but could require occasional Saturday hours
Pay frequency: biweekly
