  • Position Summary

    The Card Services Specialist is responsible for monitoring internal and external systems for all card programs, performs a variety of clerical, data entry and administrative duties related to our debit and credit card program. Assists both internal and external members with card related issues across all platforms and systems. Monitors and analyzes suspicious activities on account holders cards/accounts to minimize loss exposure.


    Duties and Functions Essential to the Successful Performance of the Job:

    • Provide excellent member service to all internal, external, and potential credit union members.
    • Enter new debit and credit card applications, issue credit card plastics, update credit/debit card limits, set up and cancel auto pays, process balance transfers, process credit card payment reversals and other monetary adjustments, establish and maintain appropriate files and records on member accounts.
    • Process new, lost/stolen and replacement debit cards, credit cards and Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) cards.
    • Monitor and analyze suspicious activities on account holders' debit cards, credit cards, HELOCs and Instant Issue for potential fraud or risk to minimize loss exposure. Take action as needed, including contacting members.
    • Process and respond to fraud and disputes claims according to the regulations and internal procedures.
    • Support branch personnel with questions regarding debit/credit cards, including card activities, card statements, disputes, and monetary adjustments.
    • Function as a guide for Branches in regard to Instant Issue troubleshooting and questions.
    • Assist our members with account inquiries, problems, adjustments, and changes by telephone, e-mail, or correspondence.
    • Comply with all department and credit union policies and procedures.
    • All other duties as assigned.







    Minimum Job Requirements:


    Education:

    · High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

    Experience:

    · One to three years of similar or related experience.

    · Experience working in a financial institution (preferred).

    Specific Skills:

    · Proficiency with computers

    · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    · Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.

    · Ability to navigate multiple technologies while staying engaged with members

    · Able to sit for an extended period of time

    · Strong member focus with the ability to have detailed conversation with our members

    · Ability to document member account activities thoroughly and concisely

    · Ability to effectively prioritize work

    · Ability to approach problems logically and with good judgement to ensure appropriate outcome

    Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.:

    · Proficient in PSCU software and FSP (preferred).
