    Job Duties

    This position provides investigative services to FLAGS’ unemployment
    compensation fraud unit. These responsibilities will include: maintaining records,
    preparing reports and correspondence related to the work, conducting interviews to
    obtain information from witnesses and targets, and testifying as a witness in courts
    throughout the Commonwealth.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Applicants should possess competent working knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures and case management systems.
    • This position requires well-developed written and oral communication skills, proficiency in time management, the ability to work independently and as a team member, and the ability to organize and analyze large quantities of written and verbal information.
    • Candidates must be detail-oriented and able to quickly assimilate oral and written data, analyze facts, and draw logical conclusions.
    • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and to adjust priorities without close supervision.
    • This position requires an associate degree or higher, the ability to type, familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Word, and Excel), and the ability to learn to use document management and case management software.

    Additional Considerations

    The preferred candidate will have working knowledge of Virginia Employment Commission (VEC) policies and procedures and experience with Multi-Jurisdictional Grand Jury (MJGJ) functions.
