    The Data Operations Manager would be responsible for operational aspects of the Chartway Data Warehouse product. This will include the production environment, change management process, and supporting elements such as the Power BI environment. The Data Ops Manager is also responsible for the daily operations required to support the data warehouse, such as ETL monitoring and troubleshooting, vendor partner relationship management including data flow issue identification, triage, communication, and follow through. This role would be responsible for creating and maintaining release management aspects of software development best practices that support the needs of Chartway’s business owners and stakeholders. The Manager will partner with the Data Engineering team, Business Analytics team, as well as Subject Matter Experts in different departments to support the organization’s ability to analyze and leverage data and continue to evolve and pursue a data-driven culture of excellence.

    Responsible and Accountable for:

    • Oversee maintenance of data processing apparatus to support daily operations and data availability for all business functions to use data to drive decisions
    • Responsible for vendor partner relationship management for incoming and outgoing datasets
    • Operate within and support agile software development principles including sprints and scrums to ensure continuity of development and deployment through industry standard code base management and versioning practices
    • Collaborate with Data Engineering department to ensure efficiency of design and implementation of the data management practices as well as the health of the data infrastructure, including the extract, transform, and load processes and production environment
    • Maintain QA/UAT and production environments including synchronizing versioning and patching of SQL instances, and environment performance maintenance
    • Support and maintain the primary analytical platform to include security and production pipeline functionality
    • Operationalize and support the implementation of Artificial Intelligence via internally developed or externally provided Machine Learning and Deep Learning models
    • Manage and develop Data Operations team members and resources to facilitate and promote the success of both organizational goals and individual team member goals
    • Developing and supporting disaster recovery and Business Continuity Planning processes for the data estate and related tools including database backup management
    • Conducts research into Business Intelligence, enterprise data management industry trends and products as required and provides recommendations based on this research
    • Ability to communicate across the organization to share vision and guidance on usage of the data estate and tools


    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Strong understanding of environment architecture, on premises and cloud, preferably Azure cloud
    • Strong understanding of source code management, versioning software, and techniques
    • Strong Proficiency with SQL
    • Working knowledge of data science technologies such as Python, R, Machine Learning, and production implementation (ML Ops) techniques
    • Proficient use of cloud-based resources (Azure preferred)
    • Proficient use of an orchestration tool (SSIS or Azure Data Factory preferred)
    • Proficient use of an analytical processing (OLAP) tool (SSAS or Power BI preferred)
    • Ability to articulate and interpret results in a compelling manner
    • Strong technical knowledge of data management systems, data warehouse methodology, data quality, data modelling, data governance, analytics, and predictive modeling
    • Strong technical knowledge of current data management trends
    • Strong desire and expectation to continue learning and growing with the Enterprise Data Management and Analytical/Data Science industry
    • Superior written and oral communication skills, as well as superior interpersonal skills
    • Exceptional customer service orientation
    • Extensive and successive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Highly self-motivated and self-directed. Keen attention to detail. Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to understand and be aware of possible suspicious activities or transactions by members or by employees, directors, executives, or officers of the credit Union. Promptly notify management as required by credit union policy if unusual activity is observed which could be an indication of financial crime or efforts to evade reporting requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act or other laws and regulations


    Education and Experience:

    • Education: BS Degree in Economics, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related area, or equivalent work experience. Master’s degree in a related field and/or related certifications encouraged.
    • Experience:5 years of experience with database and server administration
      3 years leading projects and/or people in related work
      5 years of experience designing and supporting data warehouses
      Proven experience setting up data quality, monitoring, and governance infrastructure
      Proven experience working in an Agile development methodology
      Preferred 3 years of experience in financial services industry
      Proven success supporting a data analytics solution within an organization
      Must possess superior project management skills and able to lead complex projects
