The Curriculum Developer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being a Curriculum Developer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Curriculum Developer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Curriculum Developer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     POSITION SUMMARY
    Oversees the development and monitors the implementation of pre-school thru grade 12 curriculum standards and the administration of assessments for the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Omaha. Provides guidance on instructional and leadership practices to support student learning.
    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Develops and facilitates the writing and implementation of curriculum standards and assessments in line with Catholic teachings and doctrine.
    • Supervises the administration of assessment measures (norm-referenced and criterion-referenced).
    • Conducts leadership development on the MTSS framework and all systems within the framework.
    • Works with the Catholic Schools Office staff to plan and provide on-going training and professional development for school leaders and teachers.
    • Serves as a principal of record of small rural schools ensuring compliance with Rule 10 regulations.
    • Works with Catholic School Office staff to coach school leaders on development and implementation of goals and strategies for continuous improvement.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Background in and/or knowledge of the Catholic Church with a demonstrated commitment to the mission and teachings of the Church.
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education required.
    • Master’s Degree in Educational Administration or Curriculum and Instruction required.
    • Current Nebraska Teaching Certificate or ability to obtain by August 1, 2024, required.
    • Current Nebraska Administrative Certificate or ability to obtain by August 1, 2024, required.
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with curriculum and instruction required.
    • Previous experience as a school leader preferred.
    • Knowledge of Early Childhood Education preferred.
    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    Routine office environment; ADA-accessible building.
    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    • The Archdiocese of Omaha has 67 schools in 23 counties in Northeast Nebraska. There are schools within a 200-mile radius of the Chancery Office. Overnight travel could be up to 10%; daytime travel could be up to 30%.
    ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    Employees of the of the Archdiocese of Omaha will have knowledge of the Catholic faith, a willingness to work for a Catholic, faith-based organization and adhere to the policies of the Archdiocese of Omaha. Employees will not publicly oppose the teachings of the Catholic faith nor publicly advocate for any position in conflict with Catholic teaching, or the specific positions of the Archdiocese of Omaha or the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. This requirement includes any public speech, demonstration or writing including the use of social media or other digital technologies.
