The Curriculum Developer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being a Curriculum Developer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Curriculum Developer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Curriculum Developer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Description

    The SAIC Intelligence Subject Matter Expert (SME) will develop Marine Corps Intelligence Schools (MCIS) periods of instruction (POI) and other training materials as assigned by MCIS program management. The SAIC curriculum developer and instructor SME will possess requisite skills for full-cycle development using ADDIE and Systems Approach to Training and Education (SATE) methodologies. MCIS curriculum developer and instructor will coordinate with team members in the analysis, design, and development of POIs, training/job aids, reference materials, and other training resources as required.

    Duties may include;

    • Specialized research supporting training material development
    • Support to courseware delivery and instruction
    • Maintenance and updating of existing courseware and training materials
    • Attendance in working groups and conferences
    • Storage and accountability of ITEP courses and training materials
    • Support to MCIS HQ and detachments (formal learning centers -FLC)
    • Assist in identifying training deficiencies and requirements in support of MCIS MARDETs and the FMF
    • Provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development
    • Provide training deficiency analysis, including evaluation, for training development and improvement
    • Conduct operational unit command engagement with intelligence training leaders for training requirements and coordination of deliveries as required

    Location and Travel:

    • This position is located at MCIS, Dam Neck, VA
    • Travel OCONUS and CONUS 10% of the time

    Qualifications

    Required Education and Experience: Bachelors and fifteen (15) years or more USMC or related military intelligence experience; Masters and thirteen (13) years or more of related experience. An additional four (4) years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelors degree.

    • At least one (3) year previous military intelligence curriculum development experience and training
    • At least one (2) year experience conducting training management
    • Knowledge of MCIS Headquarters and FMF operations

    CLEARANCE:

    • Active TS/SCI
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
