The Curriculum Developer II conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Being a Curriculum Developer II develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. In addition, Curriculum Developer II writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Curriculum Developer II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The Barre Unified Union School District is seeking a dynamic leader to join our administrative team. The Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment will provide leadership in the coordination, organization, assessment and development of curriculum, improvement of instruction, and improvement and development of programs in the Barre Unified Union School District. To support this work, the Director is responsible for administering grants, including the Consolidated Federal Programs grant. This position also includes oversight of the collection and analysis of data.

The Barre Unified Union School District comprises four distinct schools led by their administrative teams that are part of the BUUSD’s Administrative Unit. Barre City Elementary and Middle School currently enrolls 770 students in grades PreK-8. Barre Town Middle and Elementary School currently has 865 students enrolled in grades PreK-8, and Spaulding High School has a student population of 640.
Barre is located in the heart of Central Vermont in Washington County, Vermont. Barre City is almost entirely surrounded by Barre Town, incorporated separately from the City of Barre. Barre City has approximately 8,800 residents and is the 3rd largest in Vermont (after Burlington and Rutland). Barre Town is home to four villages, including East Barre, Websterville, Graniteville, and South Barre, with a population of approximately 7,800. Barre is more than the "Granite Center of the World." Convenient downtown shopping, a variety of recreation opportunities, excellent schools, and diverse housing opportunities make Barre City and Barre Town a great place to live.
