Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.     Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Ensures consistency and equity of instruction across the district.
    • Offers reports and updates to assigned supervisors.
    • Provides leadership, collaboration and coordination for curriculum implementation and partnership communications.
    • Plan and provide educational information and staff development opportunities to meet the needs of staff, family child care providers, families, and children served.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Requires at least two (2) years of employment experience working in curriculum development and/or employment and training programs with a demonstrated knowledge of program planning, early childhood assessment and family systems.
    • Requires good oral and written communication skills and an ability to form professional relationships with a diverse group of people.
    • Requires computer literacy skills, including the ability to navigate, record, and overall basic computer skills needed for performance-based software as well as an electronic medical records system.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Requires a BS/BA Degree in Early Curriculum Development, Education or a related field, in addition to direct employment related experience.
