Curriculum Specialist, Sr. designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist, Sr. consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist, Sr. writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist, Sr. work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. A specialist on complex technical and business matters.     Position Summary: Serve as ongoing support and consultant for BAM Counselors regarding curriculum implementation via curriculum development/revision, curriculum cohort training, and on-site coaching to ensure program fidelity.

     

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

     

    • Provides ongoing BAM curriculum development and revision
    • Serves as co-leader for BAM cohort training
    • Provides on-going coaching, both on-site and off-site, via the 15-step Coaching Model and 5 areas of Conceptual Feedback
    • Supports, builds, and shares best practices for positive student outcomes. Provides specific guidance in the areas of professional responsibilities, prioritization, time, and resource allocation as needed
    • Participates in ongoing staff development, as needed, to stay current with ongoing program area trends and/or to keep professional credentials updated as needed.
    • Assures that agency core values and key concepts are interwoven into program design and implementation, as allowed by program stakeholders
    • Performs other duties as assigned

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

     

    Education/Experience/Training

     

    • Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, or a related area from an accredited university program or any combination of education and relevant training and/or experience.  Master degree preferred
    • Five years of work experience in education, human service, youth development, or social service field. Experience in administration and program development is preferred. Work experience must demonstrate program competence and expertise
    • Three years working as a BAM Counselor is preferred
